It was on a beautiful winter's morning that a group of friends decided to drive down to Queens Cliff to enjoy the sun and the crisp outdoors air. On our way we stumbled upon this gem, a beautiful tucked away winery located in Drysdale about an hour's drive from the city. The Scotchmans Hill winery was established in 1982 and is a family owned wine business. The winery has a beautiful little shop where one can enjoy an exotic wine tasting experience and can be sure to leave with more than one bottle of wine.
What is special about this winery is its exotic collection of wines; classic Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Moscato, Shiraz, Merlot and Pinot Noir are some of the wines that they serve. They also have their own Scotchmans Hill selection of wines that are equally aromatic and delicious. Unlike most wine tastings where one is given only a couple of sips in a tiny glass, the wine tasting at Scotchmans Hill is generous with crackers and almonds to enjoy the experience. The day we visited the winery, we were fortunate to experience some of their vintage wines as well which was an absolute delight!
While the adults can enjoy the wine, the kids can enjoy the wide open greens on the wooded area. There is a beautiful lake on the vineyard which makes a scenic walk after the wine tasting. All in all a fabulous experience with great service!
