As part of the Umbrella Winter City Sounds Program, SconeFest conjures up images of delightfully light and fresh scones and delicious arguments about which comes first, the jam or the cream. Keep the date free on Sunday 22 July 2018 from 2pm to 6pm and head to the Estonian Hall, 200 Jeffcott St, North Adelaide for an afternoon of original music, slow fashion, bake-offs, and of course the scones!
Entry to this event is free, however, registration is appreciated. Another good reason to register is to enter the bake-off challenge. If you think you make the best scone in Adelaide, or perhaps one with a unique flavour, then register to be one of 10 chosen lucky contestants who will vie for the title of SconeFest 2018's Scone Champion! Be sure to read the rules, and for a $10 entry fee, you have the chance to win the title and receive a VIP Floating Melodies experience for two. Perhaps the Stuffed with Scones Challenge is the one for you. Again, if you believe you have what it takes; 10 plates of scones, who can eat the most in one minute? All it'll take is a registration for $10 to win the Stuffed with Scones Championship and again receive a VIP Floating Melodies experience for two.
An event where musicians team up with the Country Women's Association can only result in a celebration of food and a program of original music written by local artists of all ages. You'll find music from the younger ones inspired by the older generation of musicians, as well as music from the older generation who are still actively writing and performing their own music. This event features Frank Loves Joan, Sing Australia and more, so come along for this nostalgic journey through music and past times, ending with a large community jam session. Be sure to bring your instrument or your voice, and jump right in. Bring the whole family, bring all your friends, for a perfect afternoon that'll flitter the winter blues away.
