Bring your toddlers to Scitech plus older children also
1. TODDLERFEST
Scitech transforms into an exclusive playground for toddlers from 10th to 25th February for Toddlerfest! Toddlerfest is designed for 2 to 5 year old children and their families, and here you can imagine, discover and explore together. There will be loads of activities, shows, and fun to be had throughout Scitech.

The two week-long event allows children to enjoy a range of exciting science activities in a stimulating and educational environment, specifically invented for toddlers. The activities, as well as the workshops, vary daily so that you can go more often than once or twice during these two weeks.

Normal Scitech admission prices apply during Toddlerfest, making it an affordable day out for the whole family! And children under 4 years old are free! It will be on from 10.00 am to 5.00 pm.

Here is a short video giving you a glimpse of this wonderful programme:

2. DINOSAUR TRAIN
During the February Toddlerfest, you will be able to join Buddy and Tiny and experience the amazing world of the Dinosaur Train as you go on a magical singing and dancing journey with Buddy and Tiny.

3. SPACE ACADEMY
Blast into astronomy with a space-themed Scitech this January! You will be able to zoom around Scitech exploring their brand-new feature exhibition PLANET PIONEERS, while you create your own satellite in the Tinkering Space.

You can also explore astronomy in the biggest Planetarium in the southern hemisphere, or experience a rocket ship through the virtual reality headsets, and there will be much more.

Meet scientists, colonise a new planet and experience VR at Scitech in January. Plan your trip online so you don't miss a thing! Plus, as an added bonus, you could complete a Junior Cadet, Cadet, or Space Quest journey to receive your limited-edition Space Academy badge!

This will be on from 1st January to 31st January, 2018, and you can see the full programme here.

4. SCITECH PLANETARIUM - FASTER THAN LIGHT
Explore our potential to develop the next generation spacecraft that will take us to the stars in the new Scitech Planetarium show - Faster Than Light. This is based on real science and engineering, and it will take you on an exciting journey to the newly discovered planet circling our sun's nearest neighbour, "Proxima Centauri". You will ride into the future on laser-driven space sails, "antimatter engines and even warp drive" - sounds almost like it is right out of science fiction!

This is for children in years 5 to 12, and under 4 year olds will not be permitted.

5. THE PUPPET THEATRE
The Puppet Theatre is for ages 3 through to 7 years old and here these children will start to experience science through storytelling. The emphasis is on simplicity and interaction with the puppets and puppeteers. There are various shows on daily so please check with their website. The shows take between 20 and 30 minutes so it is not too long for the young children. You do not require bookings for this show and cost is included in the admission fee.

6. SCIENCE THEATRE
The show uses curiosity and questions to find out how the fascinating properties of liquid nitrogen can transform ordinary objects in order to solve problems and do amazing, useful feats in our science world.

Please check their website for times, and this takes about 25 minutes and is recommended for ages 7 years and up. You do not have to book for this show and cost is included in the admission fee.

7. THINGS THAT GLOW
Nowadays, our understanding of light and its "countless complex and compelling applications" is far beyond anything we had imagined. There are explosive fire-balls and so much more including surprising chemical reactions, through to the wonders of UV and laser light.

Things That Glow Show will examine the brilliant and exciting world of light and how we use it. This show takes about 25 minutes, and no booking is required.
Cost is included in admission price.

There is a lot more you will be able to do at Scitech and some of the things include:
