As part of celebrating annual Science Week, Darwin libraries will present some events for children and families. One of the events is a special Science Week story time, suitable for children up to 5 years old.
Science Week story time will feature special stories about science and try to encourage children as young as possible to love and be curious about science. This special story time will be followed by fun activities and some experiments that allow young children to learn by discovering at their own speed.
There is no need to book for this event. Just put the following library schedule in your diary:
Casuarina Library - Monday 14 August 2017 at 10am
Karama Library - Tuesday 15 August 2017 at 10am
City Library - Wednesday 16 August 2017 at 10am
Nightcliff Library - Thursday 17 August 2017 at 10am
Another exciting event that will be held at Casuarina Library is Star Gazing for Families. Bring your star gazer to Casuarina Library courtyard on Wednesday 16 August 2017 from 7pm to 8.30pm. This special free event will be guided by astronomer Geoff Carr.
Geoff Carr will guide you looking through powerful telescopes and reveal the beauty of the night sky. You'll also find out how easy it can be to become a star gazer. Please note that children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Please book online
