Here's another event to keep the kids and teens occupied and no doubt mums and dads would be happy to have a few minutes to themselves as well, or not. Some of the research and experiments may well grab your attention too.

The Science Film Festival have jumped on the livestream bandwagon and put together a series of short science films running from mid-May to end of July 2020 and you can watch it all on their Facebook page. Below are just a couple of examples of the program, and you'll find more on their Facebook so be sure to follow them. The event/video remains on the page so you can always catch up if you're not available for the live event timeframe.

You'll find a series of short science films and Nobel Laureates explaining their research in their own words. Try some simple but fun experiments at home, but of course with mum or dad overseeing for the young-uns. If you ever wondered why sliced apples change colour or just want to learn more about gravitational waves, tune in on weekends as live events run on the Sunday of each week at 2pm (GMT plus 7) and you may need a time zone convertor/time difference calculator to work out your corresponding timeframes.

As you can see, Joachim Hecker, has been a science editor and reporter in German broadcasting for over 20 years and more. Be sure to check in on the posting dated 15 May 2020 on Facebook where you'll find many other pages of other events from science experiments to films, mini-lectures and more.
