School's out forever Celebrate on the Sunshine Coast
Picture this.

You've finished your final exam. You've handed in your final assignment. The formal is a couple of weeks away.

You don't even care what your OP will be at this stage.
You've done it - you've finished high school.
There really is no better time to be alive - you've got your whole life ahead of you and it all starts with Schoolies Week.

Unless you've lived under a rock or have never been into Surfers Paradise around November - then you'll have no idea what Schoolies is.

Simply put, it's a week long graduation festival for Year 12 school leavers. The Gold Coast may be the spiritual home of Schoolies week, but the wild, trashy party scenes spotted over the evening news these past few years have turned some of today's teenagers away from the glitter strip.

That's where the Sunshine Coast comes in.

It's not the mad scene you see on TV - it's a much more relaxed, laid back experience.

You've got the beach, the hinterland, the shops and everything else in between. Throw a dart on the map and it's yours - in 2014 the official Schoolies accomodation providers are at Alexandra Headland, Caloundra, Coolum, Marcoola, Noosa and (further north) Rainbow Beach.

You don't have to go through the official Schoolies website either. SU Qld have been running their own accommodation and event packages on the Coast for years now. They have arranged activities such as skirmish, go karts, water skiiing, surfing, shopping and more. They also have live bands and dance parties in the evening. They've had a blast as well - check out this flash mob they all performed last year.

The view from Mt Coolum - just a peak at what Schoolies on the Sunshine Coast can offer you.

Schoolies is all about what you want. If the wild party scene you've seen on the Gold Coast is more your style, then perhaps the Sunshine Coast isn't for you.

Remember - it's a rite of passage just as much as getting married or having a child (and if you didn't fool around and studied hard in school - you'll have no idea what this feels like yet).

And if you're part of the Class of 2015 and like what you've read - you can always book in early.
