Melbourne is holding the Australian premiere of School of Rock musical at Her Majesty's Theatre from 31 October to 10 February, 2019.

School of Rock is a rock musical with music from Andrew Lloyd Webber, lyrics by three-time Tony nominee Glenn Slater, book by Downton Abbey's Oscar-winning Julian Fellowes.

Based on the 2003 film, School of Rock follows Dewey Finn, a failed wannabe rock star who decides to earn a few extra bucks by posing as a substitute teacher at a prestigious prep school. After identifying the musical talent in his students, Dewey forms a band of fifth-graders, in an attempt to win the upcoming Battle of the Bands contest.
