Once again the Ashfield Council has outdone itself with its selection of programs for this school holidays. 8 fun events will be held for primary school aged children over the space of a fortnight.
Imagination Jungle
Events begin on Monday the 22nd of September with the Imagination Jungle event at the Ashfield Civic Centre. This program is targeted at children aged from ages 5 - 7 years. It is a fun drama workshop involving costume design and music and participants will have a range of musical instruments to play with.
Hula Hoop Workshop
On Wednesday the 24th of September there will be a Hula Hoop Workshop at both the Ashfield and Haberfield libraries. Aimed at teaching kids the basics of using a hula hoop, the workshop is for children aged 8 - 12 years.
Kids Games
The Ashfield Town Hall is the venue for the next event that day which will simply allow children to play a range of different games together, including sack races and a tug of war.
Goldilocks and the Three Bears Wooden Spoon Puppets
Kids will make wooden spoon puppets based around Goldilocks and the Three Bears at the next event to be held on Friday the 26th of September.
Aquatic Mini Beasts
The same day, an educational event is planned. Aquatic and Mini Beasts will teach 5 - 7 year olds about tiny marine animals and their interactions in their miniature water world.
The Nutty Professor presents: Blood!
Monday the 29th of September, children aged 5 - 12 years old will learn about vampire bats and their blood sucking ways.
Skateboarding Workshop
The Darrell Jackson Gardens in Summer Hill are the venue for a fun skateboarding event. All skateboarding and safety equipment will be provided and kids will be taught skateboarding skills.
Fruit Loop Rainbows Food Craft
The last workshop will be held on Wednesday October 1st at both the Ashfield and Haberfield libraries. A tasty event, children aged 5 - 10 years are invited to create a picture of a rainbow using Fruit loops.
