Where the Sausage Sizzle is just the beginning
In a break from the traditional weekday hustle and bustle, Bunnings Warehouse, that home away from home for big kids, and male ones in particular, has created a school holiday program that will keep smaller kids of both genders occupied for several hours.
This April the Bunnings Warehouse at Mile End is running a series of six kids workshops plus two Easter workshops. Most sessions run for 3 hours from 11am to 2pm (except where marked) with at least one hour to be allowed for on each of the activities. Bookings are highly recommended due to the popularity of many of the activities. Entry is free. The program is as follows :
Saturday 15 April : Easter Workshops
Easter Bunny arrives at Mile End at 12 noon and 2pm with a basket full of goody giveaways. Join the local Bunnings team for lots of Easter fun and activities for the whole family. Face painting and free popcorn also available.
Sunday 16 April : Easter Workshops At the Easter Workshops on Sunday the team will be decorating eggs for Easter. First Session at 10am and the second session at 2pm
Tuesday 18 April : Hanging Pom Pom Animals The first workshop is all about Pom Pom animals. Join in to make bright coloured animals to hang around the bedroom.
Wednesday 19 April : Make your own Kite It's kite making day on Wednesday, and here's hoping for a windy day so everyone can try out the fruits of their labour.
Thursday 20 April : Woodwork and split pin moving Animals Thursday is a good day for the young and the older 'tweens'. The little ones can make a split pin moving animal and the older tweens can make a woodwork maze board game.
Wednesday 26 April : Rain Sticks Wednesday is all about noise, and a chance to make a rain stick and to use some imagination to decorate it before going outside and giving it a good old fashioned shake.
Thursday 27 April : Lava lamps and sock puppets
Suitable for all ages, this workshop features lava lamps and science for the older kids and sock puppets for the little ones.
Friday 28 April : Sun Catchers And for the final day of the school holiday program, something totally different for the day by making colourful sun catchers for the windows at home. This workshop is fun, safe and suitable for all ages and taps into the imaginations of all kids.
