With six weeks of summer school holidays, The Australian Shakespeare Company (ASC) is presenting four exciting productions in various outdoor venues in Melbourne to entertain crowds of all ages.
Since its beginning in 1987 as Shakespeare Under The Stars, ASC has performed and toured in metropolitan and regional cities and locations. Having won the hearts of many people, ASC continues to produce extraordinary productions for all locations, both indoor and outdoor.
These school holidays, ASC is presenting four exciting and accessible productions guaranteed to wow and captivate audiences. These include
A Midsummer Night's Dream,
The Wind in the Willows,
Alice in Wonderland and
Caribbean Pirates at Polly Woodside, all of which provide a unique theatre experience.

[SECTION]A Midsummer Night's Dream[/SECTION]
Guaranteed to be joyous, hilarious and highly amusing.
Head to Melbourne's Royal Botanic Gardens for the celebration of ASC's 25th anniversary with the exciting, new production of Shakespeare's
A Midsummer Night's Dream between Saturday 21 December 2013 and Saturday 15 March 2014.
Along with this new adaptation, comes an outstanding young cast of lovers in addition to effervescent fairies. This production also features new music by Paul Norton, playing an important role throughout the entire play. Anticipate surprises as you go on this extraordinary magical mystery tour to the world of the woods beyond Athens, of tangled loves and of lost identities. Watch in awe as the fairies manipulate and have fun with love potions.

A family favourite returns ready to fascinate adults and children alike.
Once again, the animals from
The Wind in the Willows will arrive at the Royal Botanic Gardens in time for summer between Friday 27 December 2013 and Saturday 25 January 2014. Having entertained and delighted tens of thousands of people over 27 years, you will definitely love this edition of the lively story by Kenneth Grahame no matter how old you are. So fasten your seat belts as you join Ratty, Mole, Badger, Otter, Portly and Mr. Toad for an exciting time on the riverbank.

[SECTION]Alice in Wonderland[/SECTION]
Get ready for a magical journey.
A favourite amongst the young, the old and the in-between is Lewis Carroll's classic story,
Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Visit the Rippon Lea House and Gardens or the Geelong Botanic Gardens for a journey into a magical world. Follow Alice on her madcap adventures in Wonderland, as she grows taller and then shrinks, and her encounters with Dodo, Catepillar, Duchess and the Mad Hatter.
With acrobatics, shouting, singing, dancing and riddles and rhymes, this production is bound to captivate and enthrall the whole family. What's more, attendees are encouraged to participate throughout the show making this a unique theatre experience.

A wonderful mix of crazy pirates, awesome pirate stories and interactive theatre.
Caribbean Pirates at the Polly Woodside promises to be an anarchic adventure with the wildest and the most colourful pirates of the Caribbean. Hear about the high seas, the merchant ships and sailing in the breeze. Learn to do the pirate talk, the pirate walk, and the pirate squawk.
This is a brilliant theatre experience because you're in the story! Meet and greet Captain Cutthroat, Major Key, Larry and Gypsy Pirate and help to find the treasure map while singing along to pirate songs. With sword fights, songs, and heaps of action, there's no reason to miss out on this holiday fun.
