It's that time of the year again. School concerts are done with and the house is suddenly a lot more noisy throughout the day.
After a few days even parents are keen to get out of the house and do something different.
There are plenty of interesting things to do in Perth, so why not get out and about.
The kids are sure to be impressed by at least one of these options.
Also, a fun family excursion can be a good motivator to get the kids to get their chores done, well, sometimes.
The Nostalgia Box
Not all kids are excited about the thought of visiting a museum but a video game console museum, well that is something a bit different.
The Nostalgia Box , located in Northbridge, showcases video games, consoles and controllers across all generations of gaming, starting in the 1970s.
As well as plenty of very cool looking retro consoles, there are lots of interesting facts to be learnt and of course video games to be played.
Today's kids might be too young to remember Sonic the Hedgehog or Pong but that doesn't mean they won't have a blast playing them.
Entry for kids over five years is $10 and it is $14 for adults.
Strawberry Picking
There are a number of places across Perth where families can enjoy
picking their own strawberries and, of course, eating them as they go.
The farms open to the public during certain times of the year and while each one is slightly different, most charge about $5 for a box that you fill yourself which will hold about three kilograms of strawberries.
Many also sell drinks and snacks and ready-picked boxes of strawberries.
Most are in the Wanneroo, Bullsbrook and Gnangara areas.
Opening times and days vary depending on those who run the farms and what ripe plants they have so it is best to check with the individual farm to see when they are open.
& H Holl & Son Strawberry Farm T & H Holl & Son Strawberry Farm and
Gnangara Strawberry Farm are two options.
Epic Milkshakes
Why not conjure up some Willy Wonka magic by treating the kids to the latest food craze- Nutella doughnut milkshakes.
While we all try to give our kids healthy food options, there are some special occasions and family outings when you might want to let them enjoy something a little more indulgent.
Whether they share or have one all to themselves- they are sure to have fun sipping the hazelnut-chocolate flavoured milkshake up through a doughnut.
When the creation was sold at a cafe in Sydney in August 2015 people lined up to taste one of these beauties.
There are no lines in Perth- just head straight to
Dolcetto Patisserie and Cafe in North Perth .
