Term 3 is done and the Spring holidays are here! Take advantage of Brisbane's perfect climate at this time of year and enjoy all that Southbank has to offer over the school holidays.
Throughout the entire school holidays, jump aboard the Express Train. From Saturday 17th September to Sunday 2nd October you can steam your way around South Bank. The trackless train picks up passengers at several different places, including the Cultural Forecourt, near the River Cruise Terminal, Stanley Street Plaza and on the Promenade at Epicurious Garden. The train winds its way through South Bank, dropping passengers as it goes. Rides cost $4 for children and $5 for adults. The train runs every day between 9.30 and 4.30pm except for Saturday 24th, due to Riverfire events.
The first week of the holidays sees
Notorious Caravel docking in front of the Wheel Of Brisbane. This 60 foot ship has travelled over 13,000 nautical miles since its launch from Victoria in 2011 but from the 17th - 25th September you can climb aboard and explore the 15th century caravel replica at South Bank. The Caravel is open from 10 - 4pm daily and is suitable for all ages. Admission is $5 for adults and only $2 for children.
Synonymous with hot summer evenings, is
Ben & Jerry's Openair Cinema . From the 29th September, right through the mid-November, Ben & Jerry's Openair Cinema event returns to Brisbane. See the movie schedule of this iconic Brisbane institution

There are many child-friendly movies showing, including Kubo and the Two Strings on 1st October.
Every Thursday sees
Little Days Out . There's no need to pre-register, just head along to enjoy South Bank's free activities for children between the ages of 18 months and 12 years! Thursday 29th September is showcasing TumbleTastic Kindergym on the Little Stanley Street lawns between 9am - 1pm. The
Little Days Out fun continues every Thursday into Term 4.
