Where can you take the kids during the April school holidays without breaking the bank? The Museum of Brisbane (MoB) has the answers. From 2 to 18 April, there are many reasons to make MoB your hub for the school holidays. Best of all, entry is free.

1) Crazy Collages: Badge Making Studio

Tuesdays are all about making a piece of wearable art. Kids are inspired by the Bauhaus School of Design to create their own stylish collage accessory by exploring shapes, colours and textures. There is a nominal cost of $5 for two badges.

Time: 10am-1pm
Date: Every Tuesday During School Holidays
Venue: The Studio
Ages: All ages

2) Storytime

Every Thursday is Storytime. It offers a morning of stories and craft facilitated by an MoB Kids educator. The one-hour session includes a reading of Jackie French's illustrated storybook, Flood and activity where kids can create their river illustrations to take home.

Time: 10:30am-11:30am
Date: Every Thursday during School Holidays
Venue: Dome Lounge
Ages: 3 - 8 years but all ages welcome

3) Learn How to Make a Lantern

Instead of just making a lantern, this Saturday sessions encourage kids to draw inspiration from the Bauhaus School of Design and put ideas into practice by making an exhibition inspired lantern. Kids will learn about light, colours and shapes and take home their own special design.

Time: 10am-1pm
Date: Every Saturday During School Holidays
Venue: The Dome Gallery
Ages: All ages

4) Take a ride up the Clock Tower

Kids can enjoy a guided tour of the Brisbane City Hall and learn the secrets of this working civic building which has been the setting for many cultural, social and civic events in Brisbane's history. It was the second-largest construction project in Australia at its time. The heritage-listed City Hall has an impressive neo-classical façade, mosaic tiles, stained-glass windows and soaring ceilings. The tour begins in the King George Square foyer on the ground floor of City Hall.

Date: Tues-Sun
Time: 10:30am, 11:30am and 1:30pm
Venue: Brisbane City Hall
Age: All ages
