It can be difficult for teenagers to find places to go and things to do during the holidays- everything seems to be either aimed at children, or restricted to those over eighteen. Here are a few ways for a teen to keep entertained during the September school holidays.

Go to an underage club night
For a taste of clubbing without the alcohol (although that might not stop some teens from pre-drinking), the underage scene has plenty to offer these holidays. ZOO Underage at Chaser's Nightclub is running twice during the term break, on 28 September and 5 October; or catch Lipstick Underage at the Glacier Bar on the 28th of September.

Beach it
Take advantage of the warm spring weather and go to one of Melbourne's beaches . Sun, sand and ice-cream appeal to all ages.

Go to an all-you-can-eat
Growing teenagers need to eat plenty but often don't have much money (working as a junior in the fast food industry doesn't pay very well). While going to an all-you-can-eat smorgasbord may bring family meals to mind, imagine the fun that a hungry group of friends would have at somewhere like Foodstar , where it costs about $15 per person to stuff yourself with delicious food.

Have a movie night in
For some low-key fun, invite some friends over, make some popcorn and sit yourselves in front of the TV. A warning though, it could be difficult to get everyone to agree on what films to watch!
