The Centre of Democracy is presenting three school holiday activities that are sure to please the 'creatives' of your family.
Badge Making:
Commencing on Thursday 5th October, and repeated on the 12th October, young artists can create a personalised badge to share what is most important to them.
Button badges have been around for hundreds of years. They are used to promote bands, for fashion, during elections, and as a way to protest or share an opinion. Badges are a quick and easy way to get your message across, and have your voice heard.
Venue: Centre of Democracy, Institute Building
Corner of North Terrace and Kintore Avenue, Adelaide
Drop in anytime from 10am until midday.
Cost: free
Music Is My Superpower! School Holiday Workshop
Music has long been a way to express, or give voice to, concerns and ideology that has no other way of expression or is best expressed through music.
These October school holidays, the Centre of Democracy and the Adelaide City Library are inviting young people between the ages of 12 to 14 years of age, to help write a 'protest song' about the big issues that matter to them. Working with singer songwriter, Hannah Yates, children will learn how to express themselves through the power of music. No past musical experience is required but please
bring along a musical instrument if you have one!
Bookings required.
October 11th
Venue: Adelaide City Library
Studio 1, Level 3
