If you're looking for some fun activities in and around Melbourne these school holidays but times are tight there are many fantastic options. Start by checking out the list below:
[SECTION]Melbourne Museum : Melbourne Comes to Life[/SECTION]
From the 31st of March until the 15th of April the Melbourne Museum is holding an exhibition called "
Melbourne Comes to Life ". Children will have the opportunity to meet some of the characters from Melbourne's history and create a mini Melbourne.
The Melbourne Story Exhibition features over 1200 collection objects and provides the opportunity for children to ride in a restored Luna Park Big Dipper carriage. It is held daily in the Melbourne Gallery from 10.00am – 5.00pm.
Enjoy meeting some of the characters from Melbourne's past when they take to the soapbox at the following times in the Melbourne Gallery 12.00pm -12.10pm, 1.00pm – 1.10pm and 2.00pm – 2.10pm.
Children will also have the opportunity to create a piece to add to the Mini Melbourne streetscape between 11.00am and 3.00pm in the Melbourne Gallery.
Entry to the museum and all the activities is free for kids and those with a concession card. Adults are $10.
[SECTION]ACMI : Kid's Flicks[/SECTION]
From Saturday the 31st of March until Saturday the 14th of April
"Winnie the Pooh", will be shown at
ACMI . At 10.30am and 1pm Tickets can be purchased
online or at ACMI. They are $6 for full/concession or $5 for ACMI Members.
[SECTION]Playgrounds and Picnic Spots[/SECTION]
There are numerous wonderful playgrounds and picnic spots around Melbourne. Why not check out the equipment packed

[SECTION]Diamond Valley Miniature Railway – Eltham[/SECTION]
Visit the
Diamond Valley Miniature Railway on Sundays between 11am and 5.00pm. It is also open on Wednesdays during schools holidays between 1.00pm and 4 pm. Tickets are $3.00 per passenger. Children under 2 years ride free.
