Not Only Scentsational, but Sensational
We are here.
What an appropriate name for a florist shop, but Scentsational Flowers is more, much more, than just a florist shop.
The shop exterior.
As soon as you walk in, you are surrounded by colourful blooms. Sitting on the counter on my visit was an eye-catching Phalaenopsis orchid - its vibrant colour dominating the room.
The very colourful Phalaenopisis Orchid.
Formerly named the North Croydon Florist, Kylie took over a few years ago and expanded into the adjacent shop. Also expanded is the range of floral arrangements and other associated items
Kylie among her blooms.
Plants in pots, bottles and jars.
Flowers in jars, flowers in pots, flowers in hanging baskets and just flowers in a bunch all await the discerning customer.
A large display.
An unusual item is a cot, choc a bloc with soft toys, mainly teddies, all making perfect gifts for new babies.
Kylie says that St. Valentine's Day is still a busy time for florists, as is mother's day.
These days personal wreaths for funerals are almost non-existent, although the business has been serving the funeral industry for over 30 years with individually designed casket floral displays.
Many indoor plants in pots are always available and make splendid gifts as does a big range of hanging baskets, both with or without plants.
Plenty of gifts.
Weddings are not forgotten with the usual requirements such as bridal bouquets, bridesmaid's bouquets, button holes, corsages, and ceremony and reception floral displays.
A busy corner.
Among the cut flowers that were available on my visit were Sweet William, Snapdragons, Scented Oriental Lillys, Sunflowers, Chrysanthemums and Alstroemerias. Some unusual ones there.
A range of greeting cards to go with flowers or gifts are available from the front counter.
Cards on counter.
All floral items can be delivered locally and an online ordering service is available.
The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable about all things floral. It's a great place to just walk in and browse as it's more than just a florist shop.
