Take a ride on the wild side
Have you visited Scenic World since the upgrade of the Scenic Railway? Scenic World is known for its exhilarating ride on the Scenic Railway, my personal favourite. The Railway is 415 meters in length, a drop of 206 meters including a 52 degrees steepness, while traversing through 80 meters of natural tunnel, before entering the divine beauty of the Jameson Valley and sneak peaks of The Three Sisters.. There is plenty of exploring for the entire family. While descending in the cable car or railway on your journey to the valley floor, imagine the coal mining days, where the valley was full of the clinking and chipping away at the rocks for coal. Walk back in time into this prehistoric era of ferns and forest vegetation. This area was rich in minerals and this is where 14 year old boys worked in the mines alongside their fathers.

yes this ran on the same line

Explore the many walks, from previous years in this pristine wonderland, I recommend visiting Jesse the Pony and Coal Caves to the left of the railway in the Valley, and to the right is a lovely boarded walk to the Miners quarters, Here you can view old relics along the valley as you meander your way thru boarded walks. Sone walks have many stairs, we chose the flat boarded walk. We were so lucky in 2009, as we got to see a Lyre bird, you can definitely hear them mimicking the various sounds of mobile phones, chainsaws etc

Built in early the 1880s, The Katoomba Incliner (now Scenic Railway) ran between rocks older than dinosaur era pass through blink of an eye. Originally between Orphan Rock and where it is today and was a dual railway leading down to the coal mines.

Travelling the Skyway, traversing by cable over the valley and Katoomba Falls, the trees from above start to look like broccoli clumps. There is a short walk to a lookout of the Three Sisters from the other side of the Skyway, but time and weather did not permit us.

What a wonderful, exhilarating and relaxing day out; you can ride the multiple choices of Scenic World attractions for unlimited all day fun. It's an all day pass, so you can travel the Skyway across the magical Katoomba Falls, and enjoy a beautiful bird's eye view of the Three Sisters. I personally suggest at least 4 hours here to do all the attractions.
