We love country drives through this part of the country. For a group of over 40's, the weekends are a highlight of the week, its a time to get out and about see different places, try a new restaurant, see a movie, have a picnic, meet new people and make new friends.
Our first destination was to head to the Scenic Rim to a park on Queen St at Peaks Crossing, there we stopped for a shared morning tea. For some people it was the first time travelling through the scenic rim, it was a lovely drive - we winded through the small towns and learned about its history. After morning tea, we went through towns like Roadvale, Kalbar, Aratula, where they got a little history lesson of its towns and its German settlers.
To end out trip, we went to a quaint old pub for lunch on the out skirts of Boonah called the Dugandan Hotel the locals called this "Doogies", their menu was reasonably cheap, the lunches were delicious!
What a lot of fun had by all and we truly enjoyed what the Scenic Rim had to offer.
