A dark, unconventional and spooky performance
This Dead Fly Production is a play from the dark and obscure Don Nigro's 1979 experimental video project Scarecrow and is part of the Sydney Fringe Festival showing at the Blue Moon Theatre, Potts Point.
Scarecrow transported us to the cornfields of Iowa. Cally (Gemma Scoble) lives a lonely and claustrophobic life with her mother, Rose (Romney Stanton), who is an eccentric shut-in, in an isolated farmhouse on the edge of a cornfield. She is both spooked and spellbound by the scarecrow that keeps watch.
Cally meets a strange alluring man, Nick (Blake Wells), who draws her out of the house and into the cornfield, with the potential for something to "actually, unexpectedly, finally happen" to her…but at what cost?
She is led into a web of lust and betrayal…
The cast gave us a stellar performance and the Iowa accent was mastered with excellence from the whole cast!
