Come to the
Scandinavian Market to experience the Nordic culture and get a taste of Scandinavia. Every year, the Norwegian, Swedish, Finnish, Estonian and Danish Churches in Australia get together to make this market happen. Held on Saturday 5 May from 10am to 3pm at 33-35 Hillcrest Rd, Pennant Hills, NSW, entry is free. As it's a small venue, you're requested to please leave your dogs at home. Bring cash to the market as only select stalls have EFTPOS facilities. If needed, extra parking can be found opposite the church on Weemala Rd at the Pennant Hills Primary School. There's only 2 spaces for disabled parking at the school.
The lineup for the day is as follows.
10am - Market opens & the pastors will welcome you
10.30am, 12 noon & 1.30pm - Cellina Eleftheraki & friends will perform at the Garden Stage
11am, 12.30pm & 2pm - The Vikings fight in front of the garage
11.30am & 1pm - The Estonian choir 'Lõke' will perform at the Garden Stage
3pm - Market closes.
Come along and enjoy a day filled with music, folk dancing, vikings fighting, a silent auction and raffle and lots of fun in an atmosphere that's family friendly. Relax and enjoy your Saturday with the famous Swedish sandwich cake, the smörgåstårta, the Finnish pea soup Hernekeitto and the Danish meatballs with potato salad - Frikadeller med kartoffelsalat. You could also try the Norwegian waffles, Danish hotdogs and delicious cakes from Nordic countries.
With great stalls filled with all things Scandinavian, Danish and Swedish, you'll feel like you've been transported there without leaving home. Buy raffle tickets and win great prizes on the spot and bid for bargains at the silent auction. There are kids activities like painting Viking drawings and building with Danish LEGO. Have fun with the whole family and have a go at the Quiz. Last but not least, meet a real VIKING! Filled with entertainment, Estonian dancers and choir music, there's bound to be something for everyone. Check the
