The opening night features the premiere of Welcome to Norway. The pre-film reception will include Smorrebrod and Cake wines. This black comedy tells the story of an aspiring hotel owner who decides to turn his half-built alpine hotel near the border into a state-funded refugee asylum reception centre.
Two films of significance are the multi award winning thriller Land of Mine and the 2016 Golden Globe Nominee for Best Foreign Language Film – The Fencer, which is a fictionalised biopic based on the legendary Finnish fencer Endel Nelis.
The gorgeous and talented Norwegian actor Jakob Oftebro will attend a Question and Answer session after the special screening of the Swedish film As It Is In Heaven 2. You may remember him from the BAFTA nominated television series The Bridge. He also appears in the Danish epic Gold Coast, where he plays a botanist sent to Guinea to establish coffee plantations.
