Housewives are good at doing this! Make a batch of cookies for the mail person, the neighbors, the pastor, guests, etc.
Go to yard sales and find like-new items. Wrap the items up in pretty packaging.
A good example of this is my neighbor, which is a good example of Paying It Forward. She gets free donated groceries from an organization. She goes through the groceries for what she likes then what she does not like, she gives to me. If you have food in your pantry that you don't like, why let it spoil?
For example, my church has a box for donated groceries and a box for donated clothes.
Go to the local dollar store and buy little "giffies" to place in a box, basket or jar. Wrap it up and you are set!
These can be bought or homemade! For example, why not make a homemade gift certificate for a couple for free babysitting so that they can get a break and go out on a date?
