**Welcome to the future.
**
, is where beauty meets science.
A theatre performance featuring human and robot actors, produced by
Seinendan Theatre Company and
Ishiguro Laboratory , this is a play that will make you see robots (and humans) in a whole new way.
Sayonara tells a story of a young girl facing terminal illness. She is gently looked after by a caretaker who reads poetry to her. However, the caretaker is an android. In this performance, Canadian actress Bryerly Long stars alongside robot Geminoid F.
Treated with a tenderness not usually associated with robots,
Sayonara is a unique experience suitable for theatre buffs and non-robots alike. This is a rare opportunity with Melbourne being the first to see this version of Hirata's play outside of Japan.
The internationally acclaimed short play will be performed in English and Japanese with subtitles. Following the performance, there will also be the opportunity for a Q & A with Professor Ishiguro and director Oriza Hirata.

Saturday 25 August, 2pm and 5pm
Cost:
Adult $25
