One of the leading and most dynamic contemporary saxophonists in Australia will be performing in Sydney this August. Entitled 'Between Worlds', this concert showcases Nicholas Russoniello's debut solo album of the same name.

Nicholas is already an accomplished professional musician. His accolades include winning the Conservatorio di Milano's Ferrero chamber music competition in Italy, ABC Symphony Australia Young Performer of the Year in 2011 and finalist for the prestigious Freedman Fellowship in 2012. He performed as a soloist with the Queensland, Adelaide, Melbourne and Sydney Symphony Orchestras, and completed a number of recordings for ABC Classic FM. He also plays with local ensembles including Continuum Sax, Duo Histoire and The Sax Summit.

Winning the Fine Music 102.5 Kruger Scholarship in 2013 has helped Nicholas take his career to the next level as a classical saxophonist. 'Between Worlds' is the result of the scholarship and support from Fine Music 102.5 and Sydney's acclaimed Acacia Quartet. The solo album is promoted on a concert tour covering Perth, Newcastle, Wollongong, Melbourne, Hobart and Sydney.

The 'Between World' concert in Sydney will be a live showcase of Nicholas' talent. With the limited availability of classical repertoire for the saxophone, Nicholas has created exciting new music of his own and worked with other composers to write and arrange new repertoire for him.

You can enjoy a wide spectrum of music composed, commissioned and arranged by Nicholas that creates a soundscape of classical saxophone and sonorous strings, performed by the acclaimed Acacia Quartet. His concert also highlights the saxophone's versatility on the classical stage and brings new Australian music to a wider audience.

The 'Between Worlds' concert will play on 28 August in Australian Hall Gallery and 31 August at Mosman Art Gallery. You can pre-order your ticket and album CD to receive 50% off the CD on the website. Tickets and CDs are also available at the door on the night.

28 August - Australian Hall Gallery, 150 Elizabeth Street Sydney, 7.30pm. Buy tickets here.
