Created in 1954, the Savers chain was established in San Fransico, and now there is more than 230 stores worldwide that hold the name. These recycle superstores specialise in clothing, but they also stock footwear, accessories, homewares, books, CD's, DVD's and even furniture. Depending on what you're buying, the prices are surprisingly cheap. Clothing prices can range from as low as $2.99 to roughly $24.99.

It's important to set aside a reasonable amount of time if you're planning to trawl the racks of this second-hand warehouse. It takes time to find pieces that fits your style and taste. Also, don't be discouraged if you find something if you really like in a size that's to big for you. Because if you're handy with a sewing machine, you can always tailor the size perfectly to fit you, and not worry about wrecking the garment, as you only paid a maximum $25 for it.
