Fuelled up on caffeine, I finally braved the drive down to Noarlunga with some friends to check out SAVERS, the second-hand clothing superstore. And what a super store it was.

It had been recommended to me by several different friends, so I thought it was time to go and see what all the fuss was about. There were racks and racks of clothes, all neatly sorted into male and female sections, styles and sizes. I had never seen such an organised op shop before. There was a nice variety of sizes, styles and brands. Many designer brands at very reasonable prices.

It reminded me of being at the first day of the after Christmas sales at Myer or David Jones; people were scavenging everywhere, going through every single item in minute detail. After joining the crowd in the hunt for the best clothes, I came across a pair of $10 Sass and Bide jeans. They were thrown from friend to friend, in a desperate attempt that they might fit one of us. Our Cinderella attempts failed and that pair of designer jeans is probably still hanging on that rack, waiting for the next hopefuls to come along.

On the other hand, there were also some horrendous garments, many tragic 80's inspired outfits as well as denim from the 90's that we would all prefer to forget. This sparked inspiration for our next dress up party. We plan on having a 'bad taste' party. Everyone who attends has a maximum of $12 to spend on a full outfit purchased from SAVERS. We figured they would still be selling these clothes for a reason right? Dress up party fun.

Might I mention that Sunday is also the day to go, SAVERS offer all students a 20% discount off all items purchased. I would highly recommend SAVERS to anyone who needs to update their wardrobe for less. I purchased 3 dresses, 1 jacket and 1 pair of jeans for $37. How could you not be happy with that? Just make sure that you have a bit of time on your hands because you will no doubt be sifting through a lot of bad taste garments in order to hit the jackpot. And if you are the lucky one that nabs that pair of Sass and Bide jeans, well done and well played...
