Save the Children have two main sorting depots - one north of the river and one south of the river. They get all sorts of donations, including old and valuable books, and these are then sorted carefully, and only the best of condition books are then offered for sale.
With prices starting from a low $2, come in and see the friendly staff. If you are looking for a particular book they will endeavour to find it for you.

SAVE THE CHILDREN ORGANISATION Save the Children is an internationally-active non-government organisation, that promotes children's rights and provides support for kids in developing countries. They are also active right round Australia, helping disadvantaged children.
Where do funds from this latest op shop go? 70% stays local in WA, and 30% goes to overseas crisis. They are a non religious and non political charity, and they help any children in need.

They also work together with other Not For Profit Organisations to gain the best outcome. For example in Syria they work together with Red Cross and United Nations etc .
When they arrive at these places, they make children friendly safe areas, as most children are traumatised. They then ensure children have water/food and are fully vaccinated.
The organisation has an emergency response group of about 15 experts that fly into these areas and each has a role to do, be it tents/food/water and they start the ball rolling and then obtain staff to assist. Save the Children do not send volunteers into these areas, as it is too high risk. Over the years, they have found it is better to work holistically, and include everyone for the best outcomes.
Save the Children is a charity that is renowned for its op shops. They are always neat, clean, tidy and good value, and they have about 15 op shops throughout Perth.

They also, of course, have the best book sales in Perth. The University branch one that is held in June/July each year has people lining up to get the great, pristine books that are on offer.
They also have a South of the River book sale which is held yearly, as well as a new one in Joondalup for those who live near that area.
And they are always looking for new volunteers, so if you have any spare time you could give to a very worthwhile charity, please go down and speak to the staff, fill out the paperwork, and you could help raise money for disadvantaged children here in WA, and right round the world.
