With wet wintry days just around the corner, it's time to stock up on some great reads. It doesn't have to be an expensive exercise either. On Saturday the 7th of May, from 9am to 3pm, Save the Children is holding a garage sale of books at unit 8 - 18 Milford Street, East Victoria Park.

Enjoy browsing and pick up secondhand books (there are a variety of categories). Chase the winter blues away by:

losing yourself in well-written fiction;

trying out some new hearty recipes; or

learn something new.

Not in the mood to read? You can also buy CDs, DVDs, LPs and sheet music. Why not:

put on some 'cooking' music while you cook;

stay in and watch a DVD; or

just fill your home with music.

All money raised will go towards programs and emergencies both locally and overseas.
