Save the Children Australia has opened a new OP Shop on Gympie Road in Chermside. For anyone looking for a bargain, this wonderful new shop is a fantastic opportunity.

For people who haven't visited Chermside or for those who have but only visited the Westfield, Chermside has much more to offer. One interesting area full of lots of independent shops is along Gympie Road from Hamilton Road heading in the direction of Kedron.

Some of the shops along this way include the only Asian Grocery Store in the area, Grapples Thrift Shop and several places to buy wedding dresses. And now, a brand new Op Shop.

The question for many people, is what can you get in a place like this. Chermside is a fairly well to do area but there are plenty of families doing it tough in the cheaper suburbs around the area. Op Shops can be a great way to pick up a bargain on clothes for all ages. But you Op Shops sell pre-loved goods that anyone would love. I particularly like the fact that often I run into last season's fashions and styles which are no long available but I really liked. Other people find outfits they wouldn't normally splash out on a discounted price.

All the clothes are of the highest quality and don't look second hand unless it is something retro, where it is meant to look a bit second hand. There are also lots of other fun stuff for the house you can pick up at the Op Shop. This is why there are plenty of people in Brisbane dedicated to Op Shopping.

Money raised here goes to Save the Children Australia who provide services around the world to help children in need with health services, education and other help. So not only can you get a great bargain but you can help needy people.

So if you get the chance check out the new Save the Children Op Shop in Chermside and don't forget to wander along Gypie road to see what else is there, maybe stopping in one of the restaurants or takeaway places for lunch. I highly recommend Mei's Yummy , which is a fish & chip shop that also does northern Chinese street food.
