In the lead up to Australia Day, Prahran Market, located at 163 Commercial Road, South Yarra, is again paying homage to the humble Aussie snag.

At this free event, taking place from 12 noon to 2pm on Friday 22nd January 2016, you will have the opportunity to watch talented butchers and poulterers battle it out. The sausages, handmade by Market traders, will be cooked up by barbecue chef extraordinaire, Bob Hart. You will then have the opportunity to taste the sausages and vote on your favourite, with the winning butcher or poulterer vying for the esteemed title of Sausage King!

2015 saw a myriad of sausage flavours, from duck and orange to lamb and rosemary, pork and fennel and a whole lot more – what will 2016 bring? Can last year's winners, Gary's Quality Meats (who produced a 'Beau Thai' sausage) again scoop the pool? Or will Neil's Meats - runners up last year with their Aussie lamb, honey and mint sausage - sneak ahead this time?
