First opened in Sydney, Satang has opened a branch at Waymouth Street in Adelaide CBD, offering a good range of Thai food. It was popular, there was a crowd of a decent size when we visited.

Coming in a serving of six, the flesh of the chicken wings in the Wing Zaab was juicy and contrasted nicely by the crisp coating. The laab powder the chicken wings were dusted in gave them a distinctive sour flavour. A small serving of salad on the side provided a fresh element.

The pieces of soft-shell crab in their Soft-Shell Crab & Black Pepper were of a good size and cooked just right. The black pepper sauce they were tossed in had the degree of peppery flavour we liked and was not too fiery. The consistency of the sauce did not mar the crispiness of the crab. A change of texture and slight sweetness was provided by capsicum and onions.

Their Buddha Tofu had large chunks of silky tofu, their exterior having a slight crispiness. The broccolini and carrot retained some bite. Contrast was provided by the slightly chewy shiitake and shimeji mushrooms. The sauce that the ingredients were cooked in had a sweet-savoury flavour.

During lunchtime, diners can enjoy $12.90 lunch specials consisting of chicken, pork, beef or tofu stir-fried in a sauce of your choice accompanied with rice. Its location makes it accessible for those in the Adelaide CBD who have a craving for tasty Thai cuisine.
