When the
Sasquatch Bar opened in Chermside, it quickly became one of the most popular places for people to head in the evening for drinks. With a selection of craft beers and an ever-changing array of what is on tap, its main problem was a lack of a decent menu. However, that has changed with the recent launch of their new full menu.

About the Sasquatch Bar
This little suburban pub became an instant hit with the local younger crowd looking for somewhere different to enjoy drinks any day of the week. With a constantly changing lineup of craft and specialty beers, as well as ciders on tap, it is a great experience for the modern drinker who is there to enjoy a night out and not just get drunk. While patrons tend to be younger, there is usually a diverse group here enjoying both drinks and food.

Other drink choices include a selection of classic and more interesting cocktails on offer from $10, cocktail jugs, shooters, a reasonable collection of Australian wines and Cleanskin coffee.

The New Menu
They have recently added in a full menu, that includes, their popular heroes, big plates large enough to share between 2 or even 3 people, as well as various sides and snacks. All of these take inspiration from world cuisine, including hero sandwiches with things like miso salmon or kranskies, while the big plates bring together a range of flavours in both surprising but delicious ways.

I have shared some of the photos of their meals with chefs (ranging up to the 5-star variety). They agree, the food doesn't look special and it is even hard to imagine what their plan was from the way the food looks. On the other hand, it is really delicious and worth trying. It is an exploration in taste worth taking.
Also, don't forget to check out their regular specials for most weeknights. Tuesday is date night with a meal for 2 special, Wednesday is for your mates with wings on special, Thursday gets more sophisticated with cheese, terrine and wine. Don't forget their Sunday afternoon Pork Roast night. Sasquatch is now a great alternative option for dining in Chermside, especially if you enjoy trying different drinks and cocktails with your food.

Fun, games and entertainment
The Sasquatch bar can be a great place to just to relax, with a range of games on offer. For me, this is a fun way to spend an afternoon with a coffee or beer, some snacks and a nice game of chess,
Jenga,
Connect Four or Battleships.

Chess is just one type of game available at the Sasquatch Bar
There is also a small stage in the corner for live music. I think though that people are heading there for the atmosphere and cool crowd. Now they will be heading for the food as well.

Verdict
This is a bar opened by young motivated people. They have found the right spot and brought in the right attitude. As a result, they have quickly become a popular spot in the local area. They haven't rested on their laurels but instead worked to improve and develop their business. While not always perfect, this is definitely the place to go for drinks and a meal in Chermside. It is well worth a trip from outside that area to check it out. Don't forget it as a spot to visit when you want to escape the bland corporate brands of the Chermside's Westfield.
