Opened in 2014, Saray Restaurant is a family-run restaurant that specialises in Mediterranean cuisine. It is a popular place so booking ahead is advised to ensure you get a table.

The Mixed Meal provides a delectable meal consisting of Adana (minced lamb), Chicken and Lamb grilled skewers. The meat of the Adana Skewers was softer than the Lamb Skewers and the spices gave them a delectable spiced flavour. Compared to the lamb skewers, the spiced taste of the Chicken Skewers was milder.

Served with the skewers were garlic sauce, salsa, bread, salad and your choice of rice or bulgur. The salsa partnered nicely with the grilled meats and the garlicy flavour of the garlic sauce was not too strong.

While it is one of their side dishes, the portion size of the Chicken Salad was generous enough for it to be easily shared. There was a generous amount of Yiros chicken, which was not dry. Onion slices added a hint of sharpness to the dish. Tomatoes provided a burst of sweetness and the dressing for the salad had a delightful tangy flavour.

When ordering the Saray Special Pizza, diners can choose Yiros chicken, Yiros lamb or a combination of the two. We chose the combination option. The chicken was just as nice as that in the Chicken Salad. The lamb provided a firmer texture. The lamb taste of the Yiros lamb was not too strong. Onions and capsicum complemented the meats nicely and the pizza was baked sufficiently to give the crust a golden-brown colour.

Like the Saray Special Pizza, their AB dishes can be ordered with lamb, chicken or a combination of both. The quantity of chips was very generous. The chips were light and fluffy. BBQ sauce and tomato sauce made the dish flavoursome, and garlic sauce provided a hint of garlic flavour. At an additional cost, salad or extra meat can be added.

The Garden Salad which can be ordered as a side dish is similar to that which accompanies some of their dishes. The tomatoes were juicy and onion slices added a sharp taste to the dish. The dressing had a delightful tangy flavour and ensured the salad was not dry. Lemon wedges came with the dish for those who want to add more tanginess to the dish.

To finish your meal, the restaurant offers a selection of Mediterranean desserts which can be ordered as a sweet platter for sharing. The restaurant was very roomy and diners had the choice of indoor or outdoor seating.
