Saporito is a tiny storefront on Currie Street. 'Unprepossessing' is one word to describe its appearance. It just doesn't look like the place that sells Adelaide's best take-away coffee. Perhaps that's why it's so easy to drop in and get quick service.
It's the office workers that gave it away. Wandering around the CBD, desperately searching for a decent take-away coffee, I was drawn down the street because of the people walking past with cups and satisfied looks on their faces. Saporito was the only venue on the street with customers, so it was a bit of a giveaway.
The tiny shop sells a few sandwiches and other lunch foods, but its strong point is definitely the coffee. These guys know how to make a good brew – strong, with a round taste that just hits the spot.
It's a bit of a walk from the food strip of Rundle Street. It's not even one of the areas that the regular tourists are likely to wander into. However, if you're absolutely desperate for a coffee, it's well worth the search.
Thanks for reviewing Saporito - It is one of my favourite coffee places - when I haven't had breakfast and I have time I get off the bus early (my work is at the end of Currie St), I grab a coffee and raisin toast at Saporito and walk to work! My favourite breakfast treat. The coffee is always good.
