Must see spectacle
The Santos GLNG City of Lights returns in 2013 with a brand new, laser lights and special effects show. City of Lights will open the Brisbane Festival on Saturday, September 7 and light up Brisbane's skyline nightly until Friday, September 27.
One of Brisbane Festival's favourite free events, this year's spectacle will feature lots of lasers and cascading water choreographed to a sensational soundtrack. New this year, the show will also include an exciting live performance element.
From Sunday through Thursday, there will be two laser light shows each evening: 7pm and 8:30pm. On Friday and Saturday nights, spectators will be spoiled with three shows: 7pm, 8pm and 9pm.
For unrivalled views, visit the Santos GLNG Lounge located at South Bank's Cultural Forecourt. Mingle with friends while enjoying a few drinks and nibbles. The Santos GLNG Lounge is open every evening during the festival from 5pm until 10pm (except Mondays). Entry is free.
Public transport is encouraged as South Bank becomes extremely busy during the Brisbane Festival and parking is a nightmare. It is also a good idea to get there early to secure your spot beside the river and settle in for the spectacle.
