Sugar, spice and all things nice
Christmas is just around the corner and so are the German International School's creative gingerbread workshops, so pack up the sleigh and saddle the reindeer to head to Terrey Hills and spend some quality time making treats for your Christmas table, assuming they're not devoured beforehand.
Tis the time to be merry and these fun classes will have you embracing the spirit of the season as you build and decorate your masterpiece – be it a gingerbread house, a Christmas tree made out of stars or a Santa-shaped gingerbread man.
Over 90minutes, Christmas enthusiast Kate Rouvray will support you with delicious tips, tricks and inspiration for you to create the most scrumptious culinary sensation ever. Set to be filled with laughter, sugar, spice and all things nice, a prize will be awarded in each session for the best work of art.
It's all on for 2 days only with 3 sessions each day at 10am, 12pm and 2pm. Price is dependent on what you make. The gingerbread house is $38, the Christmas tree is $21 and gingerbread men are $14 each. This includes the kit, board, decorations and wrapping. There's also gluten-free options available. Be sure to book early to avoid disappointment as these popular festive activities will sell out quickly. Note that bookings will close on 21 November (14 November for gluten-free options). Should you miss out or can't make the event dates, you can order a kit online (same link as above) to pick up and assemble at home (no workshop).
To make your way there, venture past the gumdrop hedges and white icing snow to the school's Multipurpose Room at 33 Myoora Road, which runs parallel and one street back from Mona Vale Road. Street parking is available.
All that's left is to bring your Christmas cheer and have a jolly good time.
