Fantastic festive family fun
Santa's helpers bring loads of Christmas cheer

Growing up, a visit to Myer at Christmas time was always a treat – usually to view the whimsical, sparkling window display of festive stories. And of course, there was the mandatory (and sometimes scary) visit to see Santa, to share your perfect present list in the hopes that they would magically appear under the tree on Christmas morning. But stepping through the glass doors of the iconic Brisbane Department store and climbing to the fourth floor takes the adventure of a visit to see Santa at Christmas time to a whole new level.

Welcome to Santaland. I initially went in search of some special and unusual trinkets for the house and was immediately greeted by Christmas trees decorated in a range of styles and colours. There was the traditional and classic gold and red trinket combinations along with a room full of lights to the more modern scandi and wooden decorations. All were beautiful, sparkling and brought the beauty of the Christmas season to life.

But it was then that I noticed "Elf Meg" who was waiting beside a giant train carriage welcoming passengers aboard the Santa Express. I was there in a heartbeat. The life-size Santaland Express Train at Myer is an opportunity for visitors to step inside a carriage, climb aboard the train and take a realistic, albeit motionless, journey to Santa's workshop at the North Pole.

After stepping off the train and out of the carriage, you find yourself ready for a private meeting, Christmas chat and photo opportunity with the busy, bearded one and more of his elves.

Merry Christmas Santa

The fun doesn't stop there. After your visit to Santa, kids can continue their stay at tables with activities, including Crayola letter writing, LEGO and Duplo activity tables, Nerf Gun target shooting and other play stations. What fun (for everyone).

As you leave, a photo booth is located at the exit to view your pictures with Santa. Prices for the prints are::
