Santa Ride for charity was founded in 2006 by a group of friends who decided to turn their regular bike ride to the Husky pub into a fundraising event.

Riders set off from Vincentia Primary school dressed in Santa suits and ride to " The Huskisson" known to locals as the Husky Pub. The Husky pub hosts an after party with music and raffles.

The first ride in 2006 raised $1030, this year's target is $10.000.
The ride is becoming a little more diverse, 2011 included motorised scooters, wheelchairs and pushchairs.

Community members who would like to support can purchase $10.00 entry tickets from First National Real Estate in Huskisson and from the Facebook page from 1st November up until the 6th December, which is the date of the event.

Money raised is donated to several local charities and community groups including the Rural Fire Brigade and the Coastal Patrol.

Out of town visitors participating in the Santa Ride can find various types of accommodation on the Shoalhaven tourism website.

Sanddancers Bed and Breakfast and Nelsons Beach Lodge will donate 10% of your paid tariff to the Santa Ride organisers, just book online, stay any date up to 6th December and show your bike ride entry ticket to your host upon arrival.

Can't make it to Jervis Bay but would still like to support? Mention the Santa Ride to Nina at Finch Removals when you book your move during November and December and they will donate $10.00 to the community ride.

Finch Removals service all Sydney suburbs and moves from Sydney to Shoalhaven areas.
