Can you feel the Christmas momentum start to build? Is your calendar starting to fill up and the weekends getting busier? If you answered yes to both of those questions - the festive season has officially begun! If taking the kids for a Santa Photo is somewhere on your "to-do" list, then scroll down for a quick list of popular places to visit around the Capital.

Some venues have made it easier for the time-strapped parent, with text messages sent to you when Santa is ready to his visit. For kids who don't appreciate the noise and chaos of the Santa Photo experience, Woden Westfield have thoughtfully organised Sensory Santa times before the centre opens. Each year, the Santa Photo experience becomes easier - the only question is - which Santa will you choose?

From North to South...

1/ Gungahlin Marketplace will have Santa and Mrs Claus in residence in their Christmas Grotto between Monday 4th December to Saturday 24th December, for photos or just a wave from afar. Click here to see when the festive couple will be in the centre. Whilst at the centre, also enjoy the soft play area next to Santa and school holiday activities in the later half of December. See here for details.

2/ Belconnen Westfield Shopping Centre will be celebrating the official arrival of Santa with a parade on 18th November, starting at Lathlain Street and travelling through the centre to his throne at Centre Court. Santa will be at the centre earlier however, arriving on 12th November and staying all the way until Christmas Eve. All children will receive a free gift. Prices start from $20.95 for a standard photo package - see here for prices. See here for details and times.

3/ David Jones in the Canberra Centre will be hosting Santa between 25th November and Christmas Eve. Explore the Magic Cave and also book your visit online (or leave your number with the elves!) and they will text you when it's your turn. The times to book start from 9:30am and run all day, with 15 minutes between each booking. Alternatively, why not take a visit the Toy Department and grab a selfie with Roaming Santa. See here for details and to book a time.

4/ Domayne Fyshwick will be having Santa on his throne every weekend between 18th November and 17th December, from 11am - 2pm. They are offering a FREE photo with Santa, with a limit of one per family. If you choose to get more copies, photo packages start from $15 - see pricing here . See here for details.

5/ Woden Westfield Shopping Centre will have Santa arriving on 18th November at the Santa Parade and then he will be on his throne ready for photos every day until Christmas Eve - see here for details. Sensitive Santa will be at the centre on the 19th November, 3rd December and 10th December between 7:30am - 9:30am. See here for details.

Have you picked your Santa? They all look so different - some are traditional, some are a little too padded, some not padded enough - but I think we can all agree that the BEST kind of Santa is...
