Sanspants Radio presents live podcasts at the 2017 Melbourne Fringe at the Metropolitan Hotel and the Courthouse Hotel in North Melbourne, four nights only until 23 September. Book your tickets here .



Deep down underneath The Metropolitan Hotel is 'The Cavern', an old cellar transformed into a studio for the live podcasts of Sanspants Radio during Melbourne Fringe. On Friday, we met the Baly Family who host their own live podcast 'It's Just Good Business'. Yes, it's a family show with Mum and Dad, and brothers Jackson and Ryder Baly and adult themes and occasional coarse language. However, the show was pretty tame with the parents maintaining quiet control through a sense of humour.



Friday night's topic was 'workplace bullying' a rather serious topic for a Fringe show, but one we can all relate to - whether bully, victim or the bystander. The live rapport of the Baly family is truly quite amazing – it's like we were around their dinner table having a casual chat about the events of the day. Let's face it – family dinner time can be a rare event these days – yet essential to debriefing from life's quandary's like dealing with a Snitch, Dibber Dobber, Lunch Thief or an Underminer in the workplace.



The conversation speculated around why people bully others, and how people seek to deal with bullies at work. Mostly, the conversation was about quirky or annoying idiosyncrasies of work colleagues and coping skills like giving the silent treatment, being a 'nice' person and pretending the behaviour is okay, making practical jokes, or in the case of the psychopath or sociopath - seeking revenge. Another thought is potentially we all can identify with aspects of the 'bully' within ourselves. *Group Hug*.
