Bush walk with the birds
Is this place a secret? I often wonder if anyone knows about this place. When I visit, I seldom see anyone. It is opposite Iona College, on, of course, Sandy Camp Road, Wynnum West and there is no signage.

During the week, it is a wonderfully peaceful place to visit – walking for exercise or taking your dog. (Weekend sporting events make it challenging to find a park – but on other days there's plenty of parking space.)

Photographer? Birdwatcher? Dog Walker? You will enjoy it. It is not a good idea to go after rain, or you will probably need your rubber boots, but on a good day, it is a great peaceful space.

If you are a birdwatcher, you probably won't see all the varieties that have been recorded here.
Ebird.org has recorded 217 types of birds there. Regularly though you will see black swans, moorhens and ducks.

There are some seats around, but I have not seen any other facilities. It is a peaceful parklands - great for a good walk for humans and dogs!

Di,
That’s not too far from my work and I’d probably enjoy a walk after a stressful day. Thanks for giving the readers another choice and great find to walk

In my days at Wynnum North SHS, our annual cross country went through the area, which was very swampy back then (1960s). Must check it out sometime to see if it has changed much.
