Impromptu adventuring, exploring our backyard and then putting pen to paper, hoping to entice you to try one, if not all, of our escapades, is my true reward!

What is small, red, juicy and totally delicious to eat? Strawberries, of course! We all love strawberries and what better way to celebrate these divine little gifts from nature than by having a
Strawberry Festival.

The third annual
Strawberry Festival affords us the perfect opportunity to celebrate our local strawberry industry, which is one of the biggest farming industries in Queensland. A full day of family strawberry fun!

The decadently delicious strawberry is like nectar to the soul and there are so many 'strawb' things happening at the Strawberry Festival, you definitely cannot afford not to be there:
Strawberry Patch Bar serving strawberry-based drinks (this one is for us bigger kids)
Farm fresh strawberry stalls
Strawberry sweets and goodies, ice-cream and gelato
Strawberry eating competitions

Come and meet the Ninja Turtles - Image: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles FB page
And a heap load more of family strawberry fun including special guest appearances by the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, who will be ready to say 'hello' to all the strawberry-addicted visitors!
Interested in all these strawberry delights? Then head over to Bribie Island's
Sandstone Point Hotel on the 19 August for a day of strawberry decadence. Entry costs are $5 for adults and a gold coin for children to be paid at the gate when arriving.

Traffic considerations
Please factor the likelihood of congestion along Bribie Island Road to and from the Strawberry Festival, into your total travel time. Perhaps consider taking a detour to avoid part of Bribie Island Rd. Drive via Beachmere Rd and back up Peel Rd onto Bribie Island Road, then turn left at the roundabout onto Bestmann Road through Ningi.
Oh my gosh, I can barely contain myself, what a yum way to spend a day!

PS Please note that for safety reasons (fireworks) the jetty at
Sandstone Point Hotel will be closed.
