What's the first thing to do when you get to Caloundra? If you are anything like us, you may like to order some fresh fish and chips and eat it while you sit on a bench overlooking the beautiful beach.
The Sandbar Café and Kiosk are centrally located on The Esplanade of Bullcock Beach. The shops are next door to each other and will be busy if the markets are on the same day.
We decided to order our seafood from the kiosk. The place has a great range of typical fish and chip packages. We waited for our double packet of grilled fish with a generous serving of thick chips.
The other options on the menu were flathead, panko crumbed whiting, snapper, barramundi, Atlantic salmon or local Mooloolaba king prawns. There is a range of seafood snacks like calamari, salmon cakes, croquettes, sea scallops, spring rolls and potato scallops. There are several different burgers for just over ten dollars.
The Sandbar also has coleslaw, Greek salad and potato salads to go with your meal. There's a fridge full of fruit juices and soft drinks. The prices are reasonable and we didn't need to wait too long for our order.
