Go on the most exciting journey with Sand Safari 2014 and let this delightful experience allow you to explore, imagine and learn about the amazing art of sand sculpting.

From Saturday 8 February to Sunday 2 March, there will be heaps of fun for the whole family with superb sand sculptures at numerous locations across the Gold Coast, a brand new Sand Trail across the Gold Coast, the sensational Australian Sand Sculpting Championships and masses of fabulous activities at the Surfers Paradise Foreshore. So grab a hat, lather on some sunscreen and head to the beach!

Are you ready to go on an adventure?

14 locations across the Gold Coast, from as far North as Helensvale to as far South as Tweed Heads, will display a magnificent sand sculpture. So download the map, hop in the car, and follow the trail to discover the magic and awe of this year's Sand Trail. You can do it all in one day or it may take a few days. It doesn't matter how you do it, just make sure you visit them all. And don't forget to grab your codeword at each location to enter the Sand Safari Challenge for your chance to win some awesome prizes.

Just remember, no matter where you are, there's a sculpture near you!

Australian Sand Sculpting Championships

Feel the excitement and witness the action at the third annual Australian Sand Sculpting Championships from Friday 14 to Sunday 16 February.

See Australia's top sand sculptors as they mould and carve using more than 180 tonnes of sand into something absolutely remarkable. You will love it, the kids will be astonished by it and the crowd will cheer for it. This year's theme is Myths, Legends and Fairy Tales, so come and see 10 professional sculptors deliver their interpretation. Expect fairies, dragons, and ancient legends to appear on the Foreshore. And don't forget to vote for your favourite sculpture for the People's Choice Awards.

In addition to the competition, there will be plenty of activities for families and children such as sand sculpting workshops, sand art and sand bottle making. So let your inner artist out and you'll have a great time without a doubt!

Engross yourself in the spectacular sculptures along the Surfers Paradise Foreshore from Sunday 16 February to Sunday 2 March. You will have all the time in the world to marvel at these extraordinary pieces of work.

While you're here, take full advantage of the various activities for families and children including free sand sculpting workshops every day from 10am to 5pm every hour. In addition, you can also enjoy sand art and sand bottle making activities for a few dollars. You have to be part of the action to enjoy it!

What's more, witness the ultimate sculpting battle as two teams compete from Thursday 20 to Sunday 23 February to sculpt a collaborative work based on their interpretation of the main theme - Myths, Legends and Fairy Tales. Join in the excitement and festivity ladies and gents!
