The Sand Art Gallery is a unique outdoor under cover art gallery showcasing sand sculptures, each created with 30 tonnes of sand.
In the theme of Enchanted Forest, international artists had 10 days to create their own sculpture. Once all pieces were completed, Australian sand sculptor Rosie, created a story she uses to guide visitors through a magical journey where a girl and a rabbit wander through the forest in a hunt for a magic key. On their journey the pair meet forest friends who help them reach their destination.
Fun for young and old, the kids will be charmed by the story, and adults awed by the intricate detail and diversity of techniques in the art. A relaxed tour with plenty of time for photos and questions about the artists and the art, allow around 1 hour to meander through.
The large dome marquees create a gallery ambience, are wheelchair accessible and provide shelter from all weather conditions.
After seeing these beautiful art pieces, enjoy the activities area to create your own art piece, have the kids learn to sand sculpt, buy a memento from the day, or enjoy a drink and meal at the neighbouring homestead cafe.
