Marriott Marquis & Marina
If you want to stay in San Diego with downtown just a few minutes walk away but with the tranquility of the Marina, then the San Diego Marriott Marquis & Marina hotel is for you.
Having recently undergone a major refurbishment, this hotel is shiny and new. It's a large hotel with more than 1,300 rooms over 25 floors and several suites. The design of the two towers results in fantastic views over the Marina and to downtown San Diego. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and with an eye to detail in the design.

Great views
The pool is not to be sniffed at either. There's a poolside bar and plenty of loungers to relax after a hard day sitting in a conference or exploring all that San Diego has to offer.

Swimming pool
Despite being a large hotel, service still feels very personal. On arrival with a sleeping toddler and wide awake baby, we were quickly assigned 'Big Ed'. He loaded up our luggage and whisked it up to our room all with a great smile and friendly chat.

Sip a local beer & watch the fighter planes return to base
There's plenty to do from the hotel too without having to jump in a car. Take a walk along the Marina and stop at a restaurant at Seaport Village. My family and I enjoyed the sunset from a terrace and watching the US figher jets and helicopters returning back to base. It's also a great place to enjoy an American breakfast. Aloha served up a tasty serving of waffles with strawberries and blueberry pancakes.
