Chocolate at its finest
Well after waiting a good few years, popular chocolateria and dessert place, San Churro, has finally arrived in Adelaide. Situated on the corner of Rundle Street and East Terrace, the store is quite large with a decent amount of seating both inside and out.

The store officially opens to the public on Monday night the 4th of March 2013, however a few family and friends of employees were invited in for a trial before opening day. Lucky enough to be one of the few, I definitely made the most of my time in one of my absolute favourite chocolate places.

Straying from my usual 'Hot & Cold' chocolate drink featuring rich, piping hot, melted Spanish chocolate with a scoop of white ice cream, I got to taste a couple of their chocolate shakes. Many flavours are offered including banana chocolate, strawberry chocolate, cookie chocolate and even Spanish caramel chocolate. Whatever your favourite flavour is, San Churro is bound to offer it in the form of either a hot or cold drink.

So that has your thirst covered, but what about your hunger? Fear not, as it is rare to leave San Churro with an unsatisfied stomach. They offer a variety of chocolates, truffles, ice creams, and of course the delectable Spanish doughnuts, churros. Perfect for sharing, the 'Fondue for Two' dish is certainly recommended. It includes seasonal fruit, pretzels, marshmallows, brownies and churros with a dipping pot of warm, melted chocolate. If you just want churros to dip in your chocolate that is certainly available too, for a cheaper price.

I admit that at first glance of the menu, the prices of some items may not be pleasing to the eye. However, once you've experienced the quality of any San Churro's item, you understand that you're certainly getting your money's worth. You can read more about the high quality of the chocolate used by San Churro on their website and how you can avoid chocolate substitutes in the future.

While there are quite a few chocolate places around Adelaide, none quite compare to San Churro. I can assure you that the utmost care in planning and training has been taken in setting up this Adelaide store and your experience there is more than likely to be a pleasant one.
