offers a range of majestic red wines in a heritage setting in the Southern Vales. The winery and cellar door sit high on a ridge that overlooks the spectacular Onkaparinga River National Park to the North, and views of the ocean to the South.




The winery is located in a farm shed built in 1853 and it does feel like you are stepping right back in time when you enter. In the centre of this old building is a huge piece of machinery, which used to be an olive press. The aged walls have withstood the test of time without the need for modern adornment.



Wine labels tell a story and the Samuel's Gorge label shows an impression of the rugged landscape that is viewed from the winery. This is a glorious view that deserves to be celebrated on their label.

Samuel's Gorge[/LINK] focus on five key wine varietals; Grenache, Shiraz, Mourvèdre, Graciano and Tempranillo. The Vale is known for its big reds and craftsmanship. The wines at Samuel's Gorge are handcrafted with an attention to detail in long slow fermenting. If you want to know more about the process, the staff are very attentive, knowledgeable and friendly.



The wines of Samuel's Gorge are known to winemakers and wine lovers and those who appreciate heritage buildings and stunning views. The winery is placed in a quiet and peaceful neck of the woods, a little bit off the beaten track, but well worth investigating.



Samuel's Gorge is open from 11am to 5pm daily with seated tastings inside and outside. Masks are currently required inside while not consuming, so please remember to bring yours!
