Looking for a place to get away for the weekend with the kids? Feel like a bit of a drive but need to make sure there is something to do when you get there? Try Samford.

Only 24k from Brisbane is the sleepy little town of Samford. There are some great cafes and shops for the adults but what about the kids? Set them up at John Scott Park in the middle of the village, or show them the park with a promise to return before you leave if they are good (this sometimes works with my kids.... for a little while).

Most areas of this park are fairly standard climbing, sliding swinging sort of equipment which are a lot of fun, but the most popular areas are the train and one very cool swing set.

The cool thing about the swing is that it is 'set up so 5 people can swing facing each other at once (see if you can keep the adults off once they see it, I know I can't resist a swing).

Overall what makes this park stand out is that it is very clean and cared for and is obviously very loved by the local community. The equipment is well maintained and the bark underneath is clean and always looks fresh. It can get a little busy on the weekends but there always seems to be room for a few more kids.
